For several years, I've thought about putting something like this in my garden in memory of my two daughters who preceded me to Heaven. And even though the poem on this stepping stone moves me to tears, I just had to have it.
There are several variations of this bittersweet, meaningful poem by an unknown author, but this is what's inscribed on the one I chose:
If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again.
Those are my sentiments exactly...and oh, how I wish I could do what this stone implies... sigh...
This stone is actually quite simple with the poem taking most of the space, but the bright pink tulips are a cheerful touch that adds a bit more brightness to the garden. Nestled on a bed of medium-sized river-rocks between some wine-red day lilies and a brown flax plant, it looks rather aesthetic. I like it! And now when I relax with a good book on the patio, I feel a wee bit closer to my precious daughters.

I was so pleased after receiving this very large stepping stone as a gift for my Mother who lost her husband many years ago. I am eager to see it in her garden where she can remember him each time she passes by. As the flowers stick up a little, I wouldn't suggest actually stepping on it, but place it in a spot more for show than use. The craftsmanship is very good and it is a large heavy stepping stone that is not likely to move around after placement. There is also a hanger on the back if you choose that option. I could see it hanging on the garden fence near a favorite planter bed. For the price (less than $20) I was really happy with this purchase.

I had purchased this as a memorial gift for a friend whose Mother passed away. She was very touched by it and put it in her garden right away. It is exactly as pictured and was larger than I expected.
